If deep decay, tooth fractures, inflammations and cracks are detected on the tooth, endodontic treatment must be received. In root canal treatment, local anaesthetics are used to numb the diseased tooth and tissues in the tooth and gums.

After numbness is achieved, the decayed parts of the tooth and parts forming infection are cleaned in detail, the root part of the tooth is cleaned. The size of the root is calculated by radiographic imaging. Then, the tooth root is shaped using dental instruments.

With the antiseptic substances given into the canal, microorganisms settled in the area and inside the canal are cleaned from the environment. Finally, the canals of the cleaned and shaped tooth roots are filled, allowing the upper part of the tooth to be reshaped.
